Probability models characterized by generalized reversed lack of memory property

چکیده
Abstract: A binary operator ∗ over real numbers is said to be associative if (x ∗ y) ∗ z = x ∗ (y ∗ z) and is said to be reducible if x ∗ y = x ∗ z or y ∗w = z ∗w if and only if z = y. The operation is said to have an identity element ẽ if x ∗ ẽ = x. In this paper a characterization of a subclass of the reversed generalized Pareto distribution (Castillo and Hadi (1995)) in terms of the reversed lack of memory property (Asha and Rejeesh (2007)) is generalized using this binary operation and probability distributions are characterized using the same. This idea is further generalized to the bivariate case.

Power Function Distribution Characterized by Dual Generalized Order Statistics
The dual generalized order statistics is a unified model which contains the well known decreasingly ordered random data such as (reversed ordered) order statistics and lower record values. In the present paper, some characterization results on the power function distribution based on the properties of dual generalized order statistics are provided. The results are proved without any rest...

متن کاملFinancial Risk Modeling with Markova Chain
Investors use different approaches to select optimal portfolio. so, Optimal investment choices according to return can be interpreted in different models. The traditional approach to allocate portfolio selection called a mean - variance explains. Another approach is Markov chain. Markov chain is a random process without memory. This means that the conditional probability distribution of the nex...
متن کاملInflated-Parameter Family of Generalized Power Series Distributions And Their Application In Analysis Of Over dispersed Insurance Data
In this paper we suggest an extension of tile generalized power series distributions by including an additional parameter p. It has a natural interpretation in terms of both "zeroinflated" proportion and correlation coefficient. A new concept of p-type lack of memory property is introduced. The proposed new discrete distributions are candidates for modeling of correlated count data which exhibi...
متن کاملAsymmetric Effects of Monetary Policy and Business Cycles in Iran using Markov-switching Models
This paper investigates the asymmetric effects of monetary policy on economic growth over business cycles in Iran. Estimating the models using the Hamilton (1989) Markov-switching model and by employing the data for 1960-2012, the results well identify two regimes characterized as expansion and recession. Moreover, the results show that an expansionary monetary policy has a positive and statist...
